THE BANDSMEN OF BREMEN
He was working too hard on the farm. When he was carrying wheat sacks, he was daydreaming of lying in the barn. But he could rest during the winter.
The donkey had been working for his owner for fifteen years. When he was young, he was never tired of carrying the big bags. But now, he was old, and easily tired of carrying sacks. When he took a small bag on his back, he was quickly tired.
His owner was a good man. He was always very kind to everybody and his animals. But he was very poor. He could only earn enough money eat.
One day the donkey and his owner were walking on the road. They were turning back home from work; they saw a man who was a friend of the owner. Then the two men began talking.
''Your donkey looks very weak. It's very old and slow, too. Why don't you change this animal with a young one?'' the man asked to the old owner of the donkey.
