THE  BANDSMEN OF BREMEN

Once upon a time there was a small farm in a village. In the middle of the farm  there was a little house among a lot of trees.

 An old man and his old wife  were  the  owners  of the farm. They had a small wheat field in the village.

There were a few animals on the farm. A dog, a cow,  three chickens and an old donkey were living there. They were happy to live together.

The old  donkey had been living on the farm for fifteen years. He was a very young donkey when he first be came to  the field.

He was carrying heavy wheat sacks from field to the farm every day. Sometimes the old farmer was cutting woods and the donkey was carrying them to the field. From time to time he was carrying the wheat sacks to the mill. The  wheat became flour in the mill. Then  donkey was carrying flour sacks to the field.
